CS679 - 2007 " 2008 St. Pat's Day Accordion " lidded stein. This 8 1/4" lidded stein was made in China by BRAX Ltd. The 17th in Budweiser's St. Patrick's Day series of steins. Designed by Angel Santiago, the stein is in the shape of a concertina, which is an accordion like musical instrument that was invented in the 1830's. Closely associated with the musical traditions of the Emerald Isle, the stein is a fitting tribute to the instrument's cultural heritage. The lid resembles the button end of the instrument, complete with a leather thumb hold. The base is adorned with a raised relief Budweiser ® logo and raised relief shamrocks. The top features a famous Irish toast, "Fill your heart with gladness, that stays forever after. CS681 - 2007 " Malt-Nutrine ® " lidded stein. This 7 3/4" lidded stein was made in Brazil by Ceramarte. First introduced in 1895 until 1942, it was advertised as a liquid food tonic. The stein features portraits of women representing each season by illustrator A. Von Beust. These were 1st created in 1903. The front plaque represents "Autumn Riches". On either side of the stein, original illustrations by Jim Wainwright, interpret Von Beust's artwork found on the "Spring Breeze" and "Winter Winds" plaques. "Summer Flowers" is highlighted on the pewter lid's ceramic insert. Detailed relief hops and barley are featured on the stein's base and handle. CS682 - 2007 " Busch Stadium " lidded stein. This 9" lidded stein was made in Brazil by Ceramarte. Issued to comemmorate 40 seasons (1966 - 2005) at Busch Stadium. The stadium was demolished after the 2005 season to make way for the new stadium built in 2006. Busch stadium had been home to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, the Football St. Louis Cardinals and briefly the St. Louis Rams. The stadium opened on May 12, 1966. The stadium hosted the 1966 All Star game as well as the 1967, 1968, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 2004 World Series championships. Artist Julie Gaidis designed this truely magnificent stein which features the lower portion of the stein base in the shape of the stadium itself, with it's arched roofline. The upper part of the stein, including the lid, forms the shape of a baseball. Logos of the St. Louis Cardinals are along the base and the pewter thumblift.
