CS 142 - 1991 " Babe Ruth " lidded stein. This 9" lidded stein was made in Germany by Gerz. The 1st stein in Budweiser's Sports Legends series honors Babe Ruth, the most remembered player in the history of baseball. The striking illustration depicts the Babe�s legendary home run in 1932 at Chicago�s Wrigley Field. A pewter lid with stylized baseball thumbrest tops the stein. CS 690 - 2008 " Yankee Stadium " lidded stein. This 9 1/2" lidded stein was made in Brazil by Ceramarte. Artist John Rivoli created this stein to celebrate the unique characteristics of the stadium. Yankee Stadium, a tradition that spans more than 8 decades, was basically christened the day Babe Ruth hit a 3 run homer, in the inaugural game (April 18, 1923,) against the Boston Red Sox. Thus it's nickname: " The House That Ruth Built ". Stein features include the building's distinctive facade, blue & white tiles preserved during the stadium's 1976 modernization, dates encircle the base of the stein, commemorating each of the Yankees 26 World Series Championship titles and a banner at the top of the stein that proudly proclaims: " Courage, Tradition, Heart ". The pewter lid features a ceramic inlay with The New York Yankees logo. NY initials adorn the pewter thumbrest. Individually numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Gift box. NYYCH - 2001 " New York Yankees " lidded stein. " The Canyon of Heroes Collector Stein ". This 9 1/2" lidded stein, counting the thumblift, was made in China for the Danbury Mint. This heavy stein captures the greatness of the New York Yankees and their city. Stein features a game being played, on the left, a ticker-tape parade through New York, in the middle and the New York Yankees team celebrating they are #1, on the right. The dates of their World Series Championships from 1923 until 2000, surround the stein near the bottom. The New York Yankess logo is featured on the ceramic insert in the polished dome lid. This raised relief stein features Babe Ruth's record setting 60th home run of the 1927 season (September 30, 1927 at Yankee Stadium) which set a new standard for sluggers and established Ruth as the game's greatest power hitter. With Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig formed baseball's most formidable one-two punch ever, hitting cleanup behind the Bambino during the Yankee's in the 1920's and 1930's. He played in 2130 consecutive games, had a career batting average of .340, hit a season high 49 home runs in 1934 & 1936 and had a season high 184 RBIs in 1931. Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1939. The "House That Ruth Built" was the premier ballpark during the game's Golden Age, where so much baseball history was made. Sept 30, 1927 - Babe Ruth smashes his record 60th home run. July 4, 1939 - Lou Gehrig tells the world that he is "The Luckiest Man On The Face Of The Earth." Joe Dimaggio's historic 56 Game Hitting streak begins on May 15, 1941 against Chicago. Don Larsen's 2-0 Perfect Game Win on October 8th in Game 5 of The 1956 World Series against the Dodgers. October 1, 1961 - Roger Maris sets a New Record with 61 Home Runs. New York Yankees on both sides with 1996 World Series Champions on front. Minature pewter Cooperstown Collection Yankees Stadium on top of the lid. BRLC - 1999 " Babe Ruth Legend of the Century " lidded stein. This 8 1/4" lidded stein was made in the Kingdom of Thailand for CUI, Inc. and sold by Avon. Designed in the USA. The stein commemorates Baseball's beloved first super star, Yankee pitcher and batter, Babe Ruth. The " Legend of the Century " is depicted, in raised relief, in action at Yankee Stadium during the 1920's across the stein. Re-creation of babe's signature, in silver, is seen on the baseball on the left side of the stein. Babe Ruth on both sides of the bat that forms the handle.
