Designed by artist Angel Santiago, the stein is reminiscent of a traditional Irish clay pipe. CS679 - "2008 St. Pat's Day Accordion lidded stein." The 17th in Budweiser's St. Patrick's Day series of steins. This 8 1/4" lidded stein was made in China by BRAX Ltd. Designed by Angel Santiago, the stein is in the shape of a concertina, which is an accordion like musical instrument that was invented in the 1830's. Closely associated with the musical traditions of the Emerald Isle, the stein is a fitting tribute to the instrument's cultural heritage. The lid resembles the button end of the instrument, complete with a leather thumb hold. The base is adorned with a raised relief Budweiser ® logo and raised relief shamrocks. The top features a famous Irish toast, "Fill your heart with gladness, that stays forever after. May the sound of happy music, and the Lilt of Irish laughter", as well as the native Gaelic word for "cheers" or "to your health" - slainte! Individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity.
