This 8 1/4" lidded stein, designed by artist Don Curran, showcases the discovery of the New World, the evolution of space travel and the Industrial and Atomic Ages. The pewter lid and thumbrest are trimmed in 18k gold and topped with a 30% lead crystal ornament. CS 415 - " ONE THOUSAND YEARS OF PROGRESS " lidded stein. This 17" lidded stein was made in Germany. It was designed in the shape of an obelisk, displaying over 350 illustrations by artist Jim Wainwright. The stein represents the events, people, inventions and lifestyles of the past 2,000 tears. Events for each century are showcased in five categories: political, cultural, artistic, scientific and daily life. A detailed written chronolgy of the illustrations is included with each stein. Featured on the stein is a 13" handle accented with gold plated vines and a gold plated and pewter lid and thumbrest. Individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Gift boxed. 6075 Porcelain Figural Lithopane Millennium lidded stein. This 11 1/2" lidded figural stein is the latest creation by scupltor Tino Schunke. It depicts 2 seperate figural subjects: Old Father Time with a cane on one side above the year 1999 and the New Year's Baby is depicted on the other side with a silver leaf trumpet and floating on a puff of clouds above the year 2000. The handle of the stein is in the shape of a sand timer: the 2000 side displays a full timer wheras the 1999 side shows the time all but empty. The lithopane was inspired by Leonardo da Vinci, of "Man" with 4 arms and legs within a Roman numeral clock dial. The year dates 1999 and 2000 are accented with gold leaf. Individually numbered. Limited Edition of 2000. Boxed.

6348 Stoneware Millennium lidded stein. This 10 1/2" lidded stein was made in Germany by the Westerwald Team GmbH. At the top of the stein a relief ribbon wraps several times around the entire circumference. This ribbon spirals, overlaps and is decorated with over 100 numbers displaying sequences of year dates during the past 2000 year history. Below this ribbon, is the front subject panel featuring a handpainted raised relief map of the Western Hemisphere. The right side of the map features the most recent year dates in ascending order, each date larger than the previous one. The year "1999" is handpainted and fired in silver leaf. The year "2000" is the dominant element on the front of this stein. Each of the 4 numbers are seperately sculpted in relief, then handpainted and fired with gold leaf. Below the year "2000" is a cast pewter ribbon with incised " Millennium " text. The side panels list the past 100 year dates in crimson red highlights. Following each date is a newspaper headline of the most important and historically significant event occuring that year, from an American perspective. Handpainted laurel wreaths provide the border decorations between the 3 main panels of the stein. The handle has been sculpted in a 3-dimensional figural "2000" date, with the "2" being the primary shape of the handle and the "000" appearing at the base. The pewter lid is scuplted with a raised relief celestial pattern and then antiqued. The thumblift is dish shaped and adorned with a relief sun and moon pattern and then accented with gold leaf. In front of the thumblift is a pewter figurine of the planet Earth in precise detail. It is mounted on a revolving axis, so one can spin it with their thunb. The Earth has been plated with gold oceans and contrasting satin silver continents. A pewter figurine of Galileo with a telescope, is mounted on the lid. Limited to 2000 English text steins. Individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Boxed.
