The stein showcases baseball and three exciting moments during the game. Colorful illustrations by artist Jack Whitney are divided by a stylized representation of a baseball diamond. CS682 - 2007 Busch Stadium lidded stein. This 9" lidded stein was made in Brazil by Ceramarte. Issued to comemmorate 40 seasons (1966 - 2005) at Busch Stadium. The stadium was demolished after the 2005 season to make way for the new stadium built in 2006. Busch stadium had been home to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team, the Football St. Louis Cardinals and briefly the St. Louis Rams. The stadium opened on May 12, 1966. The stadium hosted the 1966 All Star game as well as the 1967, 1968, 1982, 1985, 1987 and 2004 World Series championships. Artist Julie Gaidis designed this truely magnificent stein which features the lower portion of the stein base in the shape of the stadium itself, with it's arched roofline. The upper part of the stein, including the lid, forms the shape of a baseball. Logos of the St. Louis Cardinals are along the base and the pewter thumblift. The ceramic insert in the pewter lid features the top half of the baseball. The handle is in the shape of a baseball bat. Individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Gift boxed. CS 690 - 2008 Yankee Stadium lidded stein. This 8", (9 1/2" counting the thumbrest), lidded stein was made in Brazil by Ceramarte. Artist John Rivoli created this stein to celebrate the unique characteristics of the stadium. Yankee Stadium, a tradition that spans more than 8 decades, was basically christened the day Babe Ruth hit a 3 run homer, in the inaugural game (April 18, 1923,) against the Boston Red Sox. Thus it's nickname: "The House That Ruth Built". Stein features include the building's distinctive facade, blue & white tiles preserved during the stadium's 1976 modernization, dates encircle the base of the stein, commemorating each of the Yankees 26 World Series Championship titles and a banner at the top of the stein that proudly proclaims: "Courage, Tradition, Heart". The pewter lid features a ceramic inlay with The New York Yankees logo. NY initials adorn the pewter thumbrest. Individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Gift box. 97351 - 1997 Babe Ruth " THE 60TH HOME RUN, 1927 " stein. The 1st and last in Longton Crown's "Portrait's of a Legend" series of steins. This raised relief stein features Babe Ruth's record setting 60th home run of the 1927 season (September 30, 1927 at Yankee Stadium) which set a new standard for sluggers and established Ruth as the game's greatest power hitter. This 7 1/8" tall stein, made in Brazil by Ceramarte, features two vintage photo's of Ruth's historic blast and a third image of the Babe's classic swing - even the handle boasts a three dimensional "Bambino" in action.
